DTCC's tokenization service launches live with major Wall Street institutions including Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, and Citi now tokenizing US stocks, ETFs, and Treasuries on-chain.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation launched its DTS tokenization platform on October 28, bringing on-chain capabilities to major Wall Street institutions. Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Citigroup, Bank of America, Fidelity, and Citadel Securities are among approximately 20 early participants now able to digitize US equities, exchange-traded funds, and Treasury securities. The system operates across the Canton Network and a private Besu network operated by DTCC, with asset coverage extending to Russell 1000 stocks and major ETF products.
The move marks a shift from experimental deployments toward operational use of blockchain infrastructure for securities handling. The participating institutions represent the core settlement and trading ecosystem, suggesting the infrastructure now serves real transaction volumes rather than purely demonstrative functions. The platform's architecture and multi-institution participation reflect attempts to standardize tokenization workflows at scale.
Questions remain about settlement velocity gains, custody arrangements for on-chain assets, and regulatory treatment of tokenized securities under existing US frameworks. Adoption velocity across the broader market and whether institutions outside this initial cohort will integrate with the system also remain uncertain.
