NYSE tokenized securities platform leverages Wormhole; BlackRock's BUIDL and institutional RWA protocols announce multichain partnerships via Wormhole, capitalizing on 20% CEX listing share for tokenized assets.

NYSE is developing a tokenized securities platform that relies on Wormhole as its interop layer. BlackRock's BUIDL fund, valued above $2 billion, is deploying its NTT protocol across multiple blockchains, while Apollo's ACRED and Hamilton Lane have been operating on multiple chains via Wormhole since July. Recent announcements made 19 hours ago unveiled partnerships between these platforms and Backpack, Securitize, and Hyperliquid to facilitate onchain equities trading.
Market adoption of tokenized assets has accelerated significantly. The share of tokenized assets among all CEX listings reached 20 percent in the first half of 2026, compared to under 7 percent in the prior year. This expansion underscores a growing institutional push into digital representations of traditional securities and real-world assets across blockchain networks.
The infrastructure developments point to crosschain solutions for institutional real-world assets as the primary utility driver in this sector. However, questions remain about regulatory frameworks governing these tokenized instruments, settlement timelines, and whether the 20 percent CEX listing share reflects actual trading volume or merely listing availability.
