Plasma One expands to Android with six months of free Core access

The stablecoin neobank built on the Plasma layer-1 network is rolling out its Android app, offering new users half a year without Core fees.
Plasma One, the consumer-facing product sitting atop the Plasma blockchain, has launched on Android, giving new sign-ups six months of free access to its Core tier, according to an announcement on X. The move extends Plasma One's reach beyond its existing footprint and follows the app's earlier private beta phase, when the team teased ambitions to scale into trillion-dollar territory for its financial infrastructure.
Plasma One is positioned as a stablecoin-native account that bundles card payments, transfers, and yield-bearing balances into a single app, built on top of Plasma's layer-1 chain, which is designed specifically for stablecoin payments rather than general-purpose smart contracts. The Core tier waiver removes a cost barrier for new Android users during the initial six-month window, aligning with Plasma's broader push to make stablecoins function like everyday spendable money rather than speculative holdings.
The Android launch arrives alongside other signs of expanding infrastructure around Plasma. Chainlink has extended its CCIP, CRE, and Data Feeds tooling to Plasma among a set of networks including Robinhood Chain testnet and MegaETH, broadening the data and cross-chain messaging options available to developers building on the chain. Separately, Ramp, backed by Peter Thiel, introduced zero-fee USDT-to-USD conversions across Ethereum, Solana, and Plasma, adding another on-ramp for stablecoin liquidity tied to the network. On the personnel side, Zaheer Ebtikar closed his fund, Split Capital, and joined Plasma as CSO, arguing that stablecoins, improved user experience, and vertical-specific chains will push crypto adoption toward real-world utility rather than speculation.
What remains unclear from available material is how many users have adopted the Android app since launch, whether the six-month free period will be extended or converted to a paid model afterward, and how Plasma One's Core tier compares functionally to any premium tiers within the app. The broader trajectory of Plasma's total value locked and its DeFi integrations with protocols such as Aave, Curve, and Gearbox will likely factor into whether the Android rollout translates into sustained platform growth.
