Solv Protocol migrates $700M tokenized Bitcoin infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink following security concerns at LayerZero.

Solv Protocol is migrating infrastructure supporting more than $700 million in tokenized Bitcoin from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, marking another project exit from LayerZero following security incidents in the cross-chain bridge space. The shift encompasses deprecation of LayerZero bridge support for Corn, Berachain, Rootstock, and TAC, with the protocol standardizing around Chainlink CCIP instead. Solv's Chief Technology Officer attributed the decision to a broader security review of cross-chain systems, citing what the company framed as recent industry hacks rather than directly naming specific incidents.
The migration reflects intensifying scrutiny of cross-chain bridge infrastructure after the $292 million Kelp DAO exploit tied to LayerZero-powered systems. Cross-chain bridges have become frequent attack targets due to their reliance on complex verification mechanisms and custody of substantial locked assets. The decision positions Solv to operate on what it describes as institutional-grade security assurance as it scales its platform for wrapped Bitcoin and Bitcoin-based assets across multiple blockchains.
What remains unclear is whether additional major protocols relying on LayerZero will follow Solv and Kelp DAO's lead, or whether LayerZero's remediation efforts will stabilize confidence in its infrastructure among DeFi platforms.
