Stargate reduces maximum bug bounty from $10M to $3.5M and reduces supported assets by net 10.
Tech & Launches ·
Stargate has reduced its maximum bug bounty payout from $10 million to $3.5 million, representing a 65 percent cut to the top reward tier. The composable crosschain liquidity protocol, built on LayerZero, made the adjustment to its bounty program, which is triaged and administered by Immunefi. The new structure maintains a minimum reward floor of $100,000 for critical reports, with payouts calculated at 10 percent of funds directly affected up to the reduced ceiling.
Alongside the maximum bounty reduction, the program also modified its asset coverage. Fourteen assets were removed from scope while four new assets were added, resulting in a net reduction of ten supported assets. The exact composition of these changes and which specific assets are now in or out of scope requires review of the program's detailed asset list.
The reasons behind the simultaneous cuts to bounty size and asset coverage have not been publicly disclosed. It remains unclear whether the changes reflect a strategic shift in Stargate's security priorities, an adjustment to risk assessment, or other operational considerations.
