Bank Leumi partners with Galaxy Digital to become the first Israeli bank offering digital asset trading.
DeFi & Yields ·
Bank Leumi has announced a partnership with Galaxy to roll out digital asset trading capabilities, marking the entry of Israel's largest bank into the space. Users of the bank's digital platforms—LeumiDigital and Pepper—will gain access to buy, hold, and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana through the Leumi Trade app. The offering is slated for early 2027.
The partnership leverages Galaxy's institutional infrastructure to support the bank's operations. GalaxyOne Institutional will serve as the trading and finance backbone, while Galaxy Custody Infrastructure will underpin Leumi's digital asset systems. No earlier Israeli bank has offered such services to retail or institutional customers through a traditional banking interface.
The arrangement signals a shift in institutional adoption of crypto in Israel, though the timeline and ultimate scope of asset offerings remain contingent on regulatory approval and final implementation details ahead of launch.
