Circle renews partnership with Coinbase on existing terms for USDC distribution and rules out quarterly dividend payouts in favor of reinvestment.
DeFi & Yields ·
Circle has renewed its partnership with Coinbase under existing terms, maintaining USDC's position within the exchange's product offerings while the stablecoin issuer continues seeking additional distribution arrangements with other partners. The company, which is NYSE-listed and issues USDC, the second-largest dollar-backed stablecoin by market value, will not introduce quarterly dividend payouts, according to CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen.
Fox-Geen stated that capital reinvestment into growth and strategic initiatives is expected to deliver stronger long-term shareholder returns than periodic distributions. The decision reflects Circle's strategic focus on deploying resources to expand USDC adoption and strengthen competitive positioning.
The renewal preserves the existing commercial relationship without disclosed changes to terms or scope. Whether the agreement includes performance metrics, exclusivity clauses, or duration specifics remains undisclosed in the announcement.
