LlamaSwap adds DEX aggregation to Robinhood Chain
DeFi & Yields ·
The tool routes trades across multiple decentralized exchanges on Robinhood's blockchain while adding no extra fee on top of the swap itself.
LlamaSwap has launched on Robinhood Chain, positioning itself as a DEX aggregator that shops across available exchanges to find the best execution route for a given swap, according to a post from DefiLlama. The service does not layer any additional fee on top of routing, meaning users pay only what the underlying DEXs and network charge to execute a trade. A separate account covering the same cluster confirms the aggregator is live and pulling liquidity from multiple decentralized exchanges on the chain.
The launch fits into a broader pattern of Robinhood Chain drawing outside protocols to build out its DeFi stack rather than relying solely on native tools. Uniswap already functions as the chain's public DEX, and Robinhood Wallet itself routes swaps through 0x and LI.FI. LlamaSwap's arrival gives users another layer for price discovery, comparing routes across these existing venues rather than replacing them.
The aggregator's debut comes as Robinhood Chain continues drawing scrutiny over swap safety. Relay Protocol has warned users that scam tokens can disappear instantly after a swap on the chain, though it maintains that private keys and other holdings remain unaffected. Relay's security documentation states that swap permissions reset to zero once a transaction executes, limiting exposure to the signed input amount rather than the full wallet. Because EIP-20 only standardizes an interface, a malicious contract address can persist beyond Relay's local blocklist on Chain ID 4663, a gap that aggregators routing through third-party venues inherit as well.
The move also arrives amid a wider expansion of Robinhood's platform beyond its original commission-free brokerage model. The company has pushed into crypto, prediction markets, and international wealth management, and recently entered Canada through a C$250 million close of WonderFi, adding Bitbuy, Coinsquare and 300,000 funded customers. It has also put $75 million into OpenAI through a new public fund aimed at giving retail traders access to private AI startups.
Not yet detailed is which specific DEXs LlamaSwap routes through on Robinhood Chain, what volume the aggregator has processed since launch, or whether its routing logic incorporates the same scam-token blocklist concerns raised around Relay Protocol. How the aggregator's zero-added-fee model interacts with underlying DEX fees and network costs over time also remains to be seen.
