Pendle expands RWA yield trading by pairing $SHROOM against Micron ($MU) stock with fee payouts in the equity, leveraging Robinhood integration.
DeFi & Yields ·
Pendle has launched trading markets for Pons assets on Robinhood Crypto, beginning 24 September 2026, with selected tokens including SHROOM and microduck. These markets allow users to isolate and trade fee streams generated by the underlying tokens—creator taxes collected on trades and holder fee distributions—turning what would otherwise be passive income into tradable yield instruments. Pendle's approach leverages Robinhood Chain's fee mechanics to create instruments that track both tokenized yields and real-world asset exposure.
The SHROOM market illustrates the mechanics: it pairs the token against MU (Micron stock), with a portion of trading fees paid out directly in the equity. Traders can use Pendle's principal and yield tranches to either speculate on the fee stream via YT tokens or acquire the underlying token at a discount through PT tokens, capturing fixed yield. This structure transforms fee-bearing tokens into yield-bearing instruments comparable to securitized interests in market activity and token holder returns.
What remains unclear is the scope of planned RWA equity pairings beyond SHROOM-MU, the fee split percentages, and how the integration will develop as Robinhood Chain usage scales. The operational mechanics of equity payouts and custody arrangements have not been detailed.
