Robinhood to integrate Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin on its main app, expanding access to 28.6M customers alongside Ripple Treasury settlement services.

Robinhood announced a partnership with Ripple to bring RLUSD, a dollar-backed stablecoin with a market capitalization exceeding $2.5 billion, to its retail platform by year-end 2026. The integration will potentially extend access to the token across Robinhood's base of 28.6 million funded customers. Beyond the consumer offering, Robinhood will adopt Ripple's treasury management software for cash operations and forecasting, while Bitstamp—the crypto exchange acquired by Robinhood in June—will employ RLUSD for settlements on the XRP Ledger.
The arrangement marks a notable strategic positioning by Robinhood, which simultaneously holds a role in the Global Dollar Network, a consortium established in 2024 to support Paxos's competing USDG stablecoin. In July, the network designated USDG as the default lending asset for Robinhood Earn, the company's onchain lending product. The exact mechanics of how both tokens will function within Robinhood's ecosystem remain unspecified, and the firm has not clarified eligibility criteria for RLUSD access among its customer base.
The partnership also includes plans to launch perpetual futures trading later this year. No changes to Robinhood's USDG commitments have been announced, and whether RLUSD will be offered as an alternative within products already designated for USDG has not been disclosed.
