XRP spot ETFs reach $1.7B in total net inflows over 9 consecutive weeks, but XRP price struggles to maintain gains above $1.40.
Macro & Markets ·
Spot XRP exchange-traded funds have accumulated $1.7 billion in total net inflows over nine consecutive weeks, with recent weekly inflows near $19 million. Bitwise's XRP fund has emerged as the largest, holding $608 million in cumulative net inflows compared to Canary Capital's $490 million. Despite this sustained institutional buying pressure, the underlying XRP token has failed to sustain gains, encountering resistance near $1.40 after a 70% surge in mid-August that took it to $1.70.
The price weakness persists despite weekly inflow consistency. XRP attempted to break through the $1.40 threshold multiple times in early September but was repeatedly rejected, including following intraday volatility around U.S. CPI data that temporarily pushed the asset to $1.45 before reversing downward. The disconnect between ETF inflows and price momentum has divided market participants on near-term direction.
Perspectives on the path forward remain mixed. Some analysts point to whale profit-taking activity and diminished network activity as signals of potential further downside, while others identify historical price patterns that could precede a substantial rally. Neither scenario has materialized with certainty, leaving XRP's immediate trajectory unresolved.
