CoinShares warns Bitcoin unlikely to break $80K without Fed policy shift or inflation improvement, citing CLARITY Act setback as headwind for altcoins.
Regulation & Gov ·
CoinShares identified two major near-term obstacles to Bitcoin's price momentum: a more hawkish Federal Reserve and legislative setbacks to cryptocurrency regulation. The firm assessed that Bitcoin would struggle to achieve a decisive break above $80,000 before year-end absent either a material improvement in inflation or a shift in monetary-policy expectations. The firm noted that while Bitcoin remains relatively insulated from the regulatory headwind, Ethereum and other altcoins face greater exposure to the policy environment.
The CLARITY Act's defeat represents the primary regulatory constraint flagged by the analysis. CoinShares indicated a revised version of the legislation could reemerge as early as next year, suggesting the setback may be temporary rather than permanent. What remains unclear is the timing and form of any resubmitted bill, and whether near-term monetary conditions will shift enough to permit a rally independent of regulatory progress.
