Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo joins OKX board to lead U.S. regulatory strategy and co-chair OKX-ICE joint venture.

Andrew Cuomo has joined OKX's Board of Directors, formalizing an advisory relationship that began in 2023. Cuomo served as New York's 56th Governor, New York State Attorney General, and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. OKX leadership stated the appointment brings regulatory and public sector experience as the exchange deepens its U.S. market presence and positions itself as infrastructure for both traditional and digital finance.
The move comes amid OKX's institutional expansion, including a joint venture with Intercontinental Exchange announced in June, with Cuomo as co-chair. That venture combines ICE's exchange and data infrastructure with OKX's onchain and self-custody capabilities for institutional access to tokenized products. ICE made a strategic investment in OKX in March valuing the platform at $25 billion.
OKX has built regulatory credentials across the U.S., UAE, European Economic Area, Singapore, and Australia, alongside monthly Proof of Reserves reporting. The company recently launched OKX AI, a marketplace for autonomous agents to transact and build reputation onchain. Cuomo's board appointment reflects this trajectory of operating at the intersection of traditional and digital finance infrastructure, though the full scope of his role beyond the ICE joint venture co-chair position remains unspecified.
