PrimeFi, a protocol operating on Hyperliquid, suffered an exploit that resulted in the loss of approximately 398.7 HYPE tokens. The attacker's wallet received the funds, and PrimeFi has since issued an on-chain recovery request seeking the return of 318.96 HYPE—representing 80 percent of the stolen amount—to compensate affected users.
The protocol has offered a white-hat bounty structure in which the attacker may retain 20 percent of the proceeds (approximately 79.74 HYPE) if the majority is returned. PrimeFi characterized the loss as materially affecting its user base and requested the attacker establish contact by sending a zero-value transaction containing identifying details to the protocol's address.
The recovery request does not constitute a waiver of PrimeFi's legal rights or remedies, leaving open the possibility of further action. It remains unclear whether the attacker will engage with the bounty offer or respond to the on-chain message.
