Bitcoin BIP-110 soft-fork enforcement deadline approaches with only 2.45–2.54% miner support, prompting some exchanges to freeze deposits/withdrawals due to chain-split risk.

Bitcoin's BIP-110 proposal is approaching its enforcement threshold at block 961,632, estimated to occur around August 7–8. Currently, only 2.45–2.54% of miners are signaling support for the change, which would enforce stricter rules on certain transaction data elements tied to Ordinals and token protocols. Major mining pools including Foundry, Antpool, F2pool, and Viabtc have not indicated backing for the measure, which is distributed through Bitcoin Knots rather than Bitcoin Core.
The low adoption rate has triggered chain-split concerns. According to reports, if BIP-110 nodes activate as designed, the network could bifurcate into two transaction histories, with the majority of miners and Bitcoin Core users expected to continue operating under existing rules. Exchanges including Hardblock and Bitaroo have announced plans to halt deposits and withdrawals around the activation window to mitigate the risk.
What remains unclear is whether the enforcement deadline will proceed as scheduled or whether broader opposition will prevent actual implementation. The impact on transaction volumes and settlement times during the potential fork window is also not yet determined.
