Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade tentatively scheduled for Sepolia on October 6, but mainnet activation remains uncertain pending devnet stability testing.
Tech & Launches ·
Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade has a tentative activation date on the Sepolia testnet of October 6 at 13:53 UTC, according to ACDC #186 meeting notes. The upgrade cannot yet proceed to that timeline without successful testing, however. Devnet-9 is currently unable to finalize, and prior rounds of testing revealed a major consensus-layer bug alongside an execution-layer issue tied to EIP-8037, prompting developers to prepare Devnet-10 for further validation.
The path forward depends on stability testing outcomes. Should Devnet-10 encounter significant instability or new critical issues, the planned Sepolia activation may be delayed. Developers have not announced timing for activation on the Hoodi testnet or Ethereum's mainnet, though December remains a target window for mainnet deployment.
