Polygon activated its Ithaca upgrade on mainnet at block 50,185,000, introducing automatic failover and transaction safeguards. The upgrade deploys an automatic recovery mechanism that activates when a block producer stalls, preventing the roughly 15-minute network halts that previously occurred. Ithaca marks the fourth mainnet upgrade in under five months, following Lisovo, Giugliano, and Zurich.
