UNI rose 13% to $4.54 over 24 hours, reaching its highest level since January, with monthly gains of 60%. The rally followed Uniswap's announcement of a new "Launches" tab in beta, designed to surface top token offerings from various launchpads. Robinhood Chain is the initial network featured, with additional chains expected to be added. The tab aggregates token releases from launchpad builders including Bankr, Pons, and Long, providing users filtering and sorting options by 24-hour volume, liquidity, recency, or trending status.
In July alone, more than 340,000 new tokens launched on Robinhood launchpads via Uniswap, generating $3.6 billion in trading volume. The platform's launchpad partners gain improved distribution through the new discovery mechanism. Additionally, 106,000 UNI tokens were burned on July 29.
Uniswap continues facing debate over its v4 fee structure, with some community members concerned that protocol fees could reduce liquidity provider returns and drive liquidity toward competitors. Founder Hayden Adams clarified that the new 5 basis point protocol fee is additive rather than extracted from existing LP earnings, and argued the charge is substantially lower than the 100โ200 basis point fees of centralized exchanges. Separately, the protocol has been targeted by phishing campaigns, with Uniswap accounting for 41% of tracked malicious impersonation sites.
