Aave's Monad market draws $100M in deposits within two days

Aave V4's total deposits surpass $250M as blue-chip DeFi shows renewed strength against memecoins and RWAs.
Aave's newly launched market on Monad has taken in more than $100 million in deposits just two days after going live, according to The Block. Across Aave V4 as a whole, total deposits have now crossed $250 million, marking one of the faster ramps for a new deployment in the protocol's history.
The inflows are being read as a signal that established DeFi protocols still command real capital, even as meme tokens and real-world-asset products have drawn much of the market's attention in recent cycles. A post on X framed the deposit figures as tangible proof that blue-chip DeFi has not been fully displaced by these newer categories, since the money moving into Aave's Monad market represents actual capital commitments rather than speculative interest.
The same commentary situates Aave's growth within a broader shift among major DeFi protocols, which are said to be concentrating effort on solving liquidity fragmentation, the problem of capital being split across incompatible pools and chains rather than working together efficiently. Uniswap V4 is cited as pursuing a parallel strategy, with both protocols aiming to unify their underlying liquidity and settlement layers while still letting individual applications built on top of them remain differentiated.
That architectural pattern is described as marking a turning point for the sector, moving competition away from individual products and toward what is termed liquidity operating systems, platforms that function as shared infrastructure for multiple applications rather than standalone offerings. Under this view, Aave's rapid uptake on Monad is less about the Monad deployment in isolation and more about validating a design approach that other protocols are converging on.
What remains unclear from the available reporting is how much of the $100 million in Monad deposits is concentrated among a small number of large depositors versus spread across many participants, and whether the pace of inflows seen in the first two days will hold as the market matures. It is also not yet established how Aave V4's $250 million total breaks down across its various markets beyond Monad, or how quickly Uniswap V4's parallel liquidity-unification effort is progressing by comparison.
