Robinhood Chain adds tokenized stock swaps as quarterly revenue hits record
DeFi & Yields ·
Ondo Stocks now trade directly against Robinhood Stock Tokens through new liquidity pools on Robinhood Chain, arriving alongside a record $1.42B quarter for the brokerage.
Eleven tokenized equities and exchange-traded funds tied to Ondo Stocks have been connected to Robinhood Chain through Uniswap v4 StablePair pools, letting holders trade between Ondo-issued tokens and Robinhood's own stock tokens that track the same underlying shares. Fifteen of the more frequently traded Ondo Stocks are available on the chain, four of which have no matching Robinhood Stock Token, among them a token tied to Robinhood itself, an iShares China large-cap fund, BitMine Immersion Technologies, and a United States copper index fund. Movement between networks happens through the Ondo Bridge, which links Robinhood Chain to BNB Chain and Ethereum, where minting and redemption take place.
The pairing addresses a structural gap: Robinhood Stock Tokens can be traded onchain at any time, but their supply cannot grow and holders cannot redeem them while Robinhood's own minting and redemption window is shut over weekends, which can push their price away from underlying value. Because Ondo Stocks mint and redeem continuously, a trader holding a discounted Robinhood Stock Token can swap it into the equivalent Ondo asset through a StablePair pool and redeem it via the bridge even when markets are otherwise closed, creating a route to narrow that gap. StablePair's dynamic fee design is meant to let liquidity providers capture more value from these corrective trades while still giving traders an incentive to act, and the effect is intended to ripple into pricing consistency across other pools using the same Robinhood Stock Tokens.
The product launch lands as Robinhood's broader financials point to rapid growth in its newer business lines. The company reported $1.42B in third-quarter revenue, with prediction market revenue climbing more than 6x and Robinhood Chain itself generating $26M, according to a social media post reporting on the earnings figures.
What remains unclear is how much of Robinhood Chain's $26M came specifically from the new Ondo Stocks pools versus other activity on the network, and whether the StablePair mechanism will meaningfully close weekend price gaps once trading volume builds. Future disclosures on pool usage and arbitrage activity during non-trading hours would help clarify how the integration performs in practice.
