Ripple held its Swell 2026 conference with partnerships announced across Coinbase, Robinhood, and BNY Mellon, while advancing regulatory standing and its RLUSD stablecoin. Coinbase expanded RLUSD access across Prime, Exchange, and retail platforms on multiple blockchains, while Robinhood entered a broader partnership involving the stablecoin across Bitstamp and institutional settlement. BNY Mellon added custody support for both XRP and RLUSD, and Moody's assigned RLUSD an A2 long-term rating alongside a P-1 short-term grade. Ripple disclosed an annual product revenue run rate approaching $900 million and secured final OCC approval for a federally supervised trust bank to support RLUSD reserves and custody services.
CEO Brad Garlinghouse positioned XRP as Ripple's "North Star" while acknowledging that RLUSD or traditional currencies may suit certain transactions better. The XRP Ledger saw continued development, including a C2FO partnership to bring settlement capabilities onto the network using RLUSD for faster supplier payments, and proposed code changes to tighten restrictions on permissioned tokens. Flare joined as a validator while Anodos Finance exited the validator list.
XRP declined to $1.19, a multi-month low, amid broader market losses and posted a 6% weekly drop with market capitalization falling below $80 billion. The token had faced resistance at $1.40 earlier in the month before the correction accelerated downward.
