Ripple's RLUSD has obtained an A2 long-term and P-1 short-term credit rating from Moody's, marking the first stablecoin to achieve investment-grade status from the agency. Moody's assessment evaluated the token's reserve quality, custody arrangements, regulatory framework, and operational safeguards, including daily monitoring and weekly stress tests, though it flagged that holders lack direct ownership of reserves and the issuer is not bankruptcy-remote. The rating coincides with Ripple's expansion of RLUSD partnerships, including integrations with Robinhood for institutional settlement and treasury management, and with Cross River Bank for payments and cross-border transfers.
