Robinhood Chain's real-world asset holdings reached $319M as of late October, with $247M or 77% of that amount actively deployed across DeFi protocols. The chain recently introduced eight new stock tokens tied to U.S. company shares, representing over $2T in combined market value across financial services, payments, consumer, entertainment, and digital asset sectors.
These stock tokens function as composable assets available for integration into lending markets, liquidity pools, and trading strategies around the clock—a capability distinct from traditional equity markets with fixed operating hours. On the Sixpence lending platform, tokens representing NVDA, SPY, QQQ, and MU can serve as collateral for USDG loans at loan-to-value ratios up to 50%, with positions remaining open indefinitely.
Stock tokens are structured as tokenized debt securities and carry geographic restrictions; they are not available to U.S. persons and face limitations in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. The scope of which additional stock tokens might be added to Robinhood Chain and how the DeFi deployment of RWAs will evolve remain unspecified.
