Aave integrates Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for its new mobile app, validated as highest-security option by Llama Risk.

Aave has selected Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to underpin its new mobile application, handling vault rebalancing, deposits, and transfers across Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum. According to Chainlink, CCIP meets the security thresholds required for Aave to expand mainstream adoption and builds on infrastructure the lending protocol has relied on since January 2020, when Chainlink Data Feeds became its oracle system.
The choice reflects validation from LlamaRisk's updated Aave Risk Framework, where CCIP ranked highest on cross-chain security benchmarks without introducing new trust assumptions. The protocol already runs GHO stablecoin transfers and governance execution through Aave Delivery Infrastructure on CCIP, and the mobile app extends this to handle yield optimization and cross-chain user activity transparently, freeing customers from manual bridge-and-deposit workflows.
The arrangement consolidates Aave's multi-chain dependency on a single standard. Whether through the Aave App, GHO transfers using the Cross-Chain Token standard, or decentralized governance proposals, CCIP now serves as the default mechanism for cross-chain operations. The extent to which this integration improves user adoption metrics or reduces operational friction remains to be observed in live performance.
