Decentraland has reduced the maximum reward tier of its bug bounty program from $500,000 to $250,000, representing a 50 percent cut to the highest payout level. The adjustment also affected five additional reward tiers, with the program's total value declining by $286,000 across all six tier reductions. The current structure of the bounty program is available on Immunefi, which administers the initiative.
Under the program's stated rules, high-severity smart contract vulnerabilities are calculated at 0.1 percent of economic damage but capped at the maximum reward level, with a minimum floor of $20,000. Proof of concept submissions are mandatory for all severity levels, and hunters must complete KYC verification before receiving payouts, which are made in a mix of MANA and USDT tokens.
The rationale for the reduction and whether additional program changes are planned remain unclear from available information. No statement from Decentraland explaining the adjustment has been disclosed.
