Primus Labs has launched Epoch 2, a system combining zero-knowledge TLS (zkTLS) and fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) to address privacy concerns around institutional on-chain activity. The platform enables users to prove off-chain activity—including activity related to Kaito Pulse—without disclosing credentials, conduct confidential transfers and yield strategies via Confidential Vault on BNB, and generate verifiable proof of reserves. According to the announcement, the infrastructure operates on a principle of privacy by default with auditability available when required.
The launch targets a stated barrier to institutional adoption: the public visibility of positions and strategies on existing blockchains. By layering cryptographic primitives, Epoch 2 aims to allow confidential on-chain operations while maintaining verifiable claims about holdings and reserves—balancing privacy with transparency for auditing purposes.
Questions remain about implementation specifics, adoption timelines, and how the system handles regulatory reporting or emergency disclosure scenarios.
