Data shows 43% of nodes have migrated to the new version, while 51% remain on the preceding v3.1.3 release. The upgrade delivers a rebranding of core server software from rippled to xrpld, reduces memory consumption by 30–40%, lowers institutional operating costs, and strengthens security posture alongside developer tooling improvements.
A security amendment bundled with v3.2.0, called fixCleanup3_2_0, is currently in voting phase and has garnered 17 validator votes of the 28 required for approval. The amendment aims to resolve vulnerabilities in single-asset vaults, lending protocols, multi-purpose tokens, permissioned domains, and permissioned decentralized exchanges. Among the Unique Node List—the ledger's trusted validator set—89% already run the new software, and 31 of 35 UNL validators have crossed the 80% threshold needed to treat v3.2.0 as sufficiently deployed.
The low adoption rate among broader validator nodes contrasts with readiness at the UNL level, where consensus infrastructure appears substantially prepared.
