The tokenized stocks sector has transitioned from a focus on token creation toward competition for user adoption and trading activity, according to Binance Research. Market capitalization among active tokenized stocks grew 314% year-to-date to reach $4 billion, while monthly trading volume expanded dramatically from $237 million in January to $7.9 billion by August. The annualized turnover rate climbed to 2.14x from 0.23x over the same period, reflecting accelerating market maturity.
Concentration among leading platforms has intensified sharply. bStocks and Robinhood together captured 82.3% of tracked issuer volume by August, up from just 0.8% in June, with their combined share reaching 87.8% into September. On-chain liquidity pools backing tokenized stocks expanded from $21.6 million to $289.1 million, growing as a share of total active market cap from 2.2% to 7.2%.
Binance Research noted that the ability to issue tokens alone no longer predicts liquidity distribution. Success now depends on converting initial users into active traders, sustaining deposit flows post-launch, and creating meaningful on-chain functionality beyond issuance itself. Which platforms will capture durable liquidity remains open.
