Arya ag, described as India's largest agricultural warehousing platform, has partnered with Avalanche to create a dedicated Layer 1 blockchain for tokenizing agricultural assets. The platform will process grain inventory receipts, electronic negotiable warehouse receipts, and related loan collateral, according to reporting on the partnership.
Arya ag's operations currently manage approximately $2 billion in stored crops and facilitate around $1.3 billion in annual agricultural credit. Three major banks have already integrated with the new blockchain network, with the possibility of later expansion to other warehousing operators. Ava Labs India head Devika Mittal confirmed the bank connections in the announcement.
The initiative aims to digitize grain-backed lending through blockchain infrastructure, though specifics on the timeline for broader warehousing company participation and the full technical architecture of the Layer 1 chain remain unspecified.
